USMD Vision

USMD’s vision is to be the premier owner/operator of physician owned hospitals and surgery centers in the healthcare industry. The USMD business plan is to develop or acquire physician owned hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in a highly fragmented national.

Our business objective is facilitated by the USMD Model, which enables physicians to achieve their objectives of providing high quality and cost effective healthcare in a physician owned facility.  The USMD Model provides a turnkey approach to developing, designing, building, equipping and operating a true physician owned and directed hospital.

USMD believes that physicians prefer our model of hospital and surgery center operations to traditional non-physician owned facilities. We believe that this is due to the elective nature of the procedures preformed at USMD Model hospitals and ASCs, which allows physicians to schedule their time more efficiently and, therefore, increase the number of surgeries they can perform in a given amount of time.  In addition, our hospitals provide physicians with greater scheduling flexibility, more consistent nurse staffing and faster turnaround time between cases.
